Local sources in Faryab province report that a former member of the Afghan security forces was publicly executed by the Taliban on Friday.
Juraqul, a resident of Bilchiragh district, was shot dead in the Kolian market in full view of the public.
Witnesses identified the shooter as Mullah Tayeb, also known as “Sadaqat,” a Taliban border unit commander based in Jowzjan.
Sources emphasize that the killing was an extrajudicial act, carried out without any legal process or trial, sparking fear among the local population.
This incident adds to the growing list of reports concerning reprisal killings of former military personnel, despite the Taliban’s declared general amnesty.
