Saudi Arabia launched an airstrike on the Mukalla port in southern Yemen to intercept a weapons shipment from the UAE intended for the Southern Transitional Council .

Riyadh stated the ships had docked without coordination and were unloading military equipment, declaring national security a “red line”.

Tensions between Saudi Arabia and the UAE over Yemen have escalated sharply, leading anti-Houthi forces to declare a state of emergency and demand UAE troops leave within 24 hours.

Rashad al-Alimi, head of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, has cancelled the defense pact with the UAE, accusing Abu Dhabi of undermining the central government.

The strike caused no casualties but sent a strong diplomatic signal.
