The Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) claims to have killed two Taliban members and injured two others in a targeted attack in the center of Kunduz province.

According to the group’s statement, the incident occurred on Friday evening, January 2, at a checkpoint near the Mufti Siraj Mosque.

Local sources have confirmed the clash, stating that the attackers targeted a military vehicle carrying Taliban personnel.

The attack took place in a busy area of Kunduz city on the Imam Sahib road, signaling the capability of armed opposition groups to operate within urban centers.
Local Taliban officials in Kunduz have not yet commented on the incident. This comes as the Freedom Front has recently intensified its guerilla attacks against Taliban checkpoints and patrols in the northern provinces of the country.
