Pakistan and China have jointly called for “visible and verifiable” measures to eliminate terrorist organizations operating within Afghanistan.

The statement followed a high-level meeting between foreign ministers in Beijing, emphasizing that Afghan soil must not be used for militancy against any nation.


Beijing praised Islamabad’s comprehensive counterterrorism efforts, specifically regarding the protection of Chinese personnel working on the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Thousands of workers are engaged in these infrastructure projects, which remain vulnerable to attacks by regional insurgent groups, creating ongoing security concerns.
Tensions remain high as Pakistan accuses Afghanistan’s Taliban rulers of sheltering the outlawed TTP, a charge Kabul consistently denies. Recent months have seen cross-border skirmishes and airstrikes, highlighting the fragile security situation in the region despite various diplomatic attempts to resolve the discord.
