The “Defend” organization, led by famous singer Aryana Sayeed, announced that their letter to Donald Trump regarding the dire situation of Afghan women received a generic response. The White House reply focused solely on US foreign policy priorities without mentioning Afghan women.
Sayeed stated that the current situation is a global warning, not just a national crisis. She emphasized that despite the disappointing response from Washington, she will continue efforts to amplify the voices of Afghan women to Congress and international media.
The artist also announced an initiative providing online education for 5,000 girls barred from schools. The Defend organization was established in 2023 to advocate for women’s rights and remains committed to fighting for the restored freedoms of Afghan women.
