Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) has announced a disruption in the imported electricity supply from Uzbekistan due to technical issues caused by severe storms. The fault occurred on the 220kV transmission line in the Tangi Tashqurghan area, plunging multiple provinces into darkness .
The power outage affects a vast region, including Samangan, Baghlan, Parwan, Panjshir, Kapisa, Kabul, Logar, Paktia, Khost, Maidan Wardak, Ghazni, Nangarhar, and Laghman . While technical teams have been dispatched to the site, intense weather conditions have prevented them from immediately starting repairs .
This marks the second major disruption recently, following a similar outage caused by heavy snowfall earlier in the month. DABS has warned residents that reconnection may be delayed until the weather improves and it is safe for engineers to work on the lines .
