Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Taliban government's foreign minister, asked diplomats and consuls abroad in a virtual meeting to convey the Taliban government's position on Afghanistan's current situation to the world. He strongly condemned Pakistan's recent airstrikes on Kabul.
Muttaqi called these attacks a clear violation of humanitarian principles. Pakistani fighter jets bombed various parts of Kabul Monday night, and the Taliban claimed a drug rehabilitation center was also targeted.
The Taliban government claims at least 400 were killed and 250 injured, but these figures have not been independently verified. Pakistan has denied targeting hospitals and claimed it targeted ammunition depots.
