Informed sources indicate that intensive discussions are taking place between the American delegation and top Taliban government officials. Despite the expected release of this individual, three other American citizens will remain held in Afghan prisons.
The Trump administration recently issued a strong ultimatum, warning of severe consequences if all American detainees are not freed promptly. The United States has stated that it will not rest until every citizen is safely returned.
