Heavy rainfall and sudden floods in Nangarhar province have caused significant casualties and financial losses. As a result of these natural disasters, at least 13 people have died and 19 others sustained injuries.
Local officials of the Taliban government confirmed that the floods have destroyed numerous residential houses and severely damaged roads across various districts. Earlier, roof collapses in the same province resulted in six additional fatalities.
In recent weeks, heavy rains have severely affected multiple provinces across Afghanistan. Official figures indicate that the death toll from recent floods nationwide has reached 99, leaving thousands of families completely displaced.
