The bodies of eight victims from the recent armed attack in Injil district of Herat province were finally laid to rest with a large public presence. Following the burial, mourners took to the streets, chanting slogans to express their profound grief and anger.
Local sources reported that residents planned to carry the bodies on foot from the Sadeqiyeh mosque to the shrine after funeral prayers. However, local authorities from the Taliban government prevented this due to security concerns, and no officials attended the ceremony.
Currently, 12 injured individuals from this tragic incident remain hospitalized in Herat's regional medical center, with one reported in critical condition. No group has yet claimed responsibility for this deadly assault on civilians.
