Local sources in Badakhshan province report that Taliban intelligence forces have arrested seven of their own members, accusing them of collaborating with the Islamic State Khorasan Province. The detained individuals reportedly include commanders and officers from both military and civilian ranks.
Among those arrested are a company commander in the defense ministry and the former head of the local radio and television network. The detainees were apprehended a few days ago and immediately transferred to the capital city, Kabul, for further intense investigations.
Relatives of the detained members have strongly denied the allegations, calling the arrests a conspiracy against them. The group is allegedly accused of involvement in an attack on the deputy intelligence chief of the Taliban government in Faizabad city.
