Local sources in Badakhshan province have reported a deadly internal clash between different factions of the Taliban government forces. The violent confrontation resulted in the death of two group members, while another fighter sustained severe injuries during the intense gunfight.
According to reports, the conflict erupted between the loyalists of two local commanders identified as Rahmatullah Emarti and Haji Safa. The two deceased individuals, named Mohammad Salim and Mohammad Awaz, were killed directly during the heavy exchange of gunfire between the factions.
Taliban government officials have not yet released an official statement regarding the root cause of this fatal infighting. Badakhshan province has previously witnessed similar violent internal disputes among Taliban members, often leading to casualties and rising tensions within their own ranks.
