Participants at the UN Commission on the Status of Women highlighted that the Taliban government has severely radicalized the education system in Afghanistan. Speakers stressed that this extremist approach is devastating the lives of Afghan women and girls, describing it as structural gender apartheid.

Richard Bennett, the UN Special Rapporteur, explained how the Taliban government systematically dismantled Afghanistan's judicial institutions since their takeover. He noted the complete absence of female judges or lawyers, adding that women are now banned from speaking on their own behalf in court proceedings.

Women's rights activists at the session pointed out that the Taliban government has issued over two hundred decrees stripping women of their fundamental rights. The attendees strongly called for an independent investigative structure to address human rights violations against Afghan women.
