Local officials in Nuristan province have confirmed that a crucial border crossing connecting with Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has officially reopened for vehicular traffic. This important route links the Kamdesh and Barg i Matal districts directly to the Chitral region.

According to the governor's spokesperson, this reopening was achieved following successful negotiations between local elders and Pakistani authorities. Efforts are still ongoing to fully resolve the border disputes and facilitate smoother travel for residents on both sides.

The border crossing had been closed for nearly two months due to violent clashes between the Taliban administration's forces and Pakistani border guards. The prolonged closure severely disrupted the daily lives of local people and their access to essential medical services.
