The United Nations has reported that escalating border clashes between the Taliban government and Pakistani forces have triggered a massive displacement crisis. A UN spokesperson confirmed that over 94,000 Afghan civilians have been forced to flee their homes entirely.

The displaced families primarily originate from the provinces of Khost, Kunar, Nangarhar, Paktia, Paktika, and Nuristan. Continuous artillery shelling and destructive airstrikes since late February have severely damaged hundreds of residential houses, essential local schools, and vital health centers.

Frequent border closures have heavily restricted humanitarian access, causing severe food insecurity and depriving patients of necessary medical care. The UN has urgently warned about the deadly threats posed by unexploded ordnance and demanded immediate protection for vulnerable civilian populations.
