Pakistani media outlets have reported that two federal police officers were assassinated in an armed attack in the Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The incident occurred when unidentified gunmen opened fire on the security personnel.
According to local police authorities, the two officers were shopping at a local market when armed men on motorcycles suddenly targeted them. The assailants managed to flee the scene immediately after executing the deadly attack.
Following the incident, Pakistani security forces swiftly cordoned off the area and launched a comprehensive search operation to track down the attackers. So far, no militant group has claimed responsibility for the assassination, and official investigations are still ongoing.
