Through a message published on social media, he stated that Afghanistan needs solidarity now more than ever before. He believes that fueling controversial debates will only create further distance and division among the country's various ethnic groups.
Mr. Sayyaf added that addressing the issue of hypothetical borders should be postponed until the country returns to a completely normal state. Previously, Mohammad Mohaqiq had publicly recognized the Durand Line as the official border with Pakistan.
