The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs announced that severe flash floods in Laghman province have resulted in the deaths of five individuals.
The disaster, which occurred on May 22, caused extensive damage to agricultural lands, local infrastructure, and seasonal crops, temporarily disrupting major transport routes.
Meanwhile, the Taliban government confirmed that similar extreme weather events and floods in several other provinces have also caused numerous casualties and widespread financial losses.
