Before their departure, the dedicated team members met with the head of the Afghan football federation to receive his full support and motivation. This significant regional tournament celebrates the seventy fifth anniversary of the establishment of football in the Maldives.
Afghanistan will play its first crucial match against the host nation on June first. Despite facing ongoing financial and infrastructure challenges, the team aims to strengthen its position in Asian football through these valuable international experiences.
