Amnesty International has highlighted the inspiring efforts of Fatima Ozgun Nosrat, an Afghan woman who founded the "Behdokht Online Academy." This virtual school aims to provide education for Afghan girls who are currently barred from attending secondary and higher education institutions.

Having experienced educational deprivation during the first Taliban government in the 1990s, Fatima launched this initiative in 2023 with just five students. Today, the academy offers free online classes in school subjects and computer skills to over 200 girls across various provinces.

Despite severe economic hardships and poor internet connectivity in rural areas, the students remain determined. The academy strictly protects their identities for security reasons, keeping the hope of learning alive in the only country where girls' education is banned.
