Local sources in Herat province have confirmed that two individuals, including a woman and a child, have died following recent violent crackdowns in the city.
The bodies of the victims were transported to the regional hospital, while dozens of other protesters sustained injuries from gunfire by Taliban government forces.
According to eyewitnesses, many residents are currently too terrified of the security situation to take their wounded relatives or patients to government-run medical facilities.
