The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Afghanistan has reported that victims of recent earthquakes in the southeast are still struggling. These vulnerable families urgently need continuous support to meet their most basic daily needs.
After visiting Paktika province, senior official Olga Cherevko stated that despite international assistance, access to essential services remains extremely limited. She emphasized that genuine investment and sustained long-term support are absolutely necessary to achieve a stable and lasting recovery.
The devastating earthquake that struck Paktika in June two thousand twenty-two caused massive casualties and widespread destruction. The UN urges that all promises of support must be transformed into practical actions to rebuild homes and improve living conditions for the Afghan people.
