The World Health Organization announced that an unprecedented heatwave in European countries claimed over one thousand three hundred lives since late June. Tens of millions of people are currently facing extremely dangerous weather conditions.
The organization's head warned that heat stress acts as a deadly silent killer. He emphasized that many infrastructures, including schools and workplaces across Europe, were not designed to withstand such consistently high temperatures.
Countries like Germany, the Czech Republic, and France have been most severely affected. Climate change and global warming caused this dangerous phenomenon, which previously occurred rarely, to repeat almost every single year now.
