The ministry of refugees stated that over one hundred and forty Afghan citizens were released from Pakistani prisons. They were primarily detained by police for lacking proper legal residency documents.

According to reports, the released prisoners included several families and children. Most of these returning migrants entered Afghanistan through the Torkham crossing, while others safely crossed via the Spin Boldak border.

Pakistan has recently intensified its campaign of forcibly deporting Afghan refugees. Humanitarian organizations have warned that these returnees face massive challenges, including severe shortages of adequate shelter and basic essential services.
