The Ministry of Interior of the Taliban government announced that they have tracked down over one hundred and eighty stolen cars across Afghanistan over the past year. These recovered vehicles have been successfully handed back to their original owners.
This figure only represents the cars recovered by the authorities, while the total number of car thefts remains undisclosed. The Taliban government has also officially renamed the traffic department to the General Directorate of Traffic Police.
Meanwhile, traffic accidents on highways across various Afghan provinces have surged significantly in recent months. Dozens of Afghan citizens have tragically lost their lives in these devastating road incidents this year alone.
