The Taliban government officials have officially commenced the extraction of tourmaline from a designated mine in the Alasay district of Kapisa province. This significant operation follows extensive surveys of the mineral-rich areas, providing immediate employment for dozens of local residents.

The provincial mining director for the Taliban government announced that thirty-two distinct tourmaline sites have been identified across the district. Currently, active extraction work has begun in eighteen of these locations, directly employing approximately two hundred and fifty workers in the local mining sector.

Since regaining power, the Taliban government has increasingly relied on mining operations as a primary revenue source. However, environmental experts consistently warn that unregulated extraction without proper infrastructure considerations will ultimately lead to devastating ecological consequences for the country's future.
