Local sources in eastern Kunar province state that a highly educated young man has tragically ended his own life due to extreme economic hardships. This heartbreaking incident took place in the Manogai district on Saturday afternoon.
The young victim, identified as Zahed, successfully held a bachelor's degree but continuously struggled with severe unemployment. His close friends and relatives believe that deep financial stress and overwhelming hopelessness eventually drove him to commit suicide.
Taliban government officials in the province have completely ignored the tragic event and offered no public comments. Sadly, the alarming rate of suicides among desperate Afghan youth has surged drastically recently, mostly fueled by widespread poverty and psychological distress.
