Local authorities in Nuristan province have announced that the bodies of twelve victims from the recent destructive floods have been successfully recovered.
The Taliban government spokesperson for the provincial governor confirmed that the body of the local mayor for Parun was among those found. It was previously reported that over one hundred people had gone missing in the disaster.
According to official reports, search and rescue operations are still actively ongoing to locate the remaining missing individuals in the remote mountainous regions of the affected province.
