A new assessment by the REACH initiative, supported by the United Nations, reveals that malnutrition is increasing in 53% of Afghanistan's districts, with the number of affected people doubling in the past three months in 44% of those areas. The highest increases were recorded in Panjshir, Faryab, and Laghman provinces.\br\brThe assessment, based on data from 12,854 local informants across 401 districts, found that 21.9 million people — nearly 45% of Afghanistan's population — are in need of humanitarian assistance.
