A young woman named Shakila, around 25 years old, was killed by her ex-husband Rahmat in the Miramor district of Daykundi province. The tragic incident occurred on Monday morning in the Iskan area.
Shakila was traveling by motorcycle with her brother and mother toward the district center when she was stopped and shot by her former husband. The family was heading to court to pursue her dowry claim of $12,000.
Rahmat holds US residency and had returned to Afghanistan for the family legal dispute. Shakila's body has been transferred to the local Iskan clinic for medical documentation.
