Abdul Basir Mazhari, the Taliban's security commander in Badakhshan, claimed that Pakistan has built shelters and training centers for armed opponents of the Taliban in the Chitral region, alleging that opposition fighters from Afghanistan's northern provinces have gathered there.

Mazhari warned that armed opponents may attempt to enter Badakhshan through the Shah Salim Pass. In recent weeks, the Freedom Front has carried out several rounds of attacks and counter-attacks in Badakhshan's Zebak district.

Pakistan's Ministry of Information denied the claims as "baseless," stating that the Badakhshan clashes stem from Afghanistan's internal problems. The Freedom Front also rejected allegations of receiving Pakistani support, saying it fights with the backing of people inside Afghanistan.
