The US State Department has rejected the Taliban’s request for American investment in Afghanistan, stating that Washington does not engage with terrorists.
A State Department spokesperson said any investment would lead to further repression of Afghan citizens and put money directly into Taliban hands.
The US has reiterated that its position toward the Taliban remains unchanged and that the group is still designated as a global terrorist organization.
