Norwegian police reported an explosion in central Oslo and announced the arrest of one suspect in connection with the incident.
The explosion occurred near a university, approximately 500 meters from the Royal Palace and Israeli Embassy.
Officers discovered a second explosive device at the scene and detonated it in a controlled manner.
Brian Skatnes, the officer in charge, said the second device resembled a “military hand grenade.”
Norwegian media reported the arrested suspect is a 13-year-old teenager, though police have refrained from confirming this detail.
No casualties or injuries have been reported, and authorities have declared the area secure.
