Officials from Afghanistan's sports administration and judo federation have held talks with representatives of the Russian Judo Federation to discuss the development of the sport in the country.
The discussions aimed to strengthen athletic cooperation between the two nations and create new opportunities for Afghan athletes.
During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of developing judo infrastructure and exchanging technical and training expertise.
Nazir Galaev, an advisor to the president of the Russian Judo Federation, put forward several proposals for advancing the sport in Afghanistan. He suggested organizing joint leagues between the two countries and providing training opportunities for Afghan judokas in Russia.
Galaev stressed that these programs could significantly help in raising the technical level of Afghan judo athletes and prepare them for successful participation in international competitions.
The Afghanistan Judo Federation welcomed these proposals and expressed hope that this cooperation will soon be put into practice.
This meeting takes place as Afghan athletes across various sports face a lack of facilities and international-level training opportunities.
