Providing assistance using a credit card from the Norwegian Refugee Council in Kandahar
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) has announced the success of the project of using a credit card to provide humanitarian aid in Miwand district of Kandahar.
In a statement, this council stated that the purpose of launching this pilot project is to help people who do not have access to banking services for some reason.
“Our pilot project demonstrates how electronic cash can facilitate the safe distribution of humanitarian aid to the homeless and vulnerable,” said Aslam Khati, NRC’s cash and market expert in Afghanistan, who leads the group.
According to the information of this council, this plan has been tested in cooperation with “Pay” account, a digital financial service provider company from October 1 to the end of December last year.
During this period, 110 families have benefited from this pilot program.
