Sources have reported to media that an Afghan refugee named Najibullah, a 16-year-old boy from Logar province, has died as a result of “electric torture” by Pakistani police in the Shinkiari area of Mansehra district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

This incident occurred while he was in custody after being cleared of charges related to “the murder of a Pakistani child.”

One of Najibullah’s relatives stated: “Despite his denial of the crime, the police used severe torture under the pretext of temporary detention and ultimately martyred this innocent young man.

” According to reports, the deceased Pakistani child had come to the area as a guest from Karachi, and following his death, Pakistani police raided the Afghan refugee camp, took the teenager away, and tortured him to death.

This is not an isolated incident for Afghan refugees in Pakistan. Afghan migrants continue to face “prejudice, discrimination, and injustice” in the country.

This situation occurs amid tense diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan in recent months, with the issue of refugees becoming one of the serious challenges between the two countries.
