Pakistani security officials have demanded the expulsion of foreign fighters, predominantly Afghan citizens, from the Bajaur tribal region.

According to SAMA News Agency on Friday, August 8, security sources have identified the presence of these foreign fighters, known as “Khawarij,” among civilians as the main factor behind terrorist and criminal activities in the region.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has presented three options to tribal elders: expelling these fighters, temporarily evacuating the area for operations, or cooperating to reduce collateral damage.

Security sources emphasized that no negotiations will take place with the “Khawarij” or their supporters unless they completely surrender to the government.

These measures come as tensions in Pakistan’s tribal border areas with Afghanistan continue to escalate, with growing concerns about the spread of insecurity.

Relations between the two countries have severely deteriorated since the Taliban group came to power in Afghanistan, with Pakistan repeatedly accusing Afghans of involvement in security issues within Pakistan.
