A war of words has escalated between former Pakistan foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Bollywood veteran Mithun Chakraborty, a BJP leader, over the Indus Waters Treaty.
Bhutto claimed that the suspension of the treaty was an “attack on history, culture and civilization” and issued a war threat to India.
Responding to these statements, Chakraborty sarcastically remarked, “If they keep talking like this and our heads get heated, then BrahMos missiles will be launched one after another.
” He further stated, “We have also thought of building a dam where 140 crore people will pee. After that, we will open the dam, and a tsunami will occur. I have nothing against the people of Pakistan.
I have said all of this for him (Bilawal Bhutto).”
These tensions heightened a day after Pakistani Army chief Asim Munir threatened nuclear retaliation and compared Islamabad’s standing against New Delhi to a “dump truck.
” Chakraborty emphasized that India would retaliate strongly if such threatening rhetoric continued from Pakistan.
