Intense fighting between Pakistani forces and the Taliban group continues in Spin Boldak.
Videos received from the scene show bodies of Pakistani soldiers lying on the ground and some fleeing from their posts The Taliban claim to have blown up the Spin Boldak gate with bombs, but latest images show the gate standing intact with possible partial damage from explosions.
According to reports, Pakistan claims to have killed over 200 Afghan Taliban fighters while acknowledging the loss of 23 of its own forces Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid had earlier claimed that Taliban forces killed 58 Pakistani soldiers in the attacks.
Pakistani officials confirmed that their forces destroyed a major Taliban camp known as the Ismatullah Karar Camp located in Afghanistan’s Spin Boldak sector during a precision strike.
The camp was reportedly one of the largest Taliban strongholds and was being used to plan and launch attacks. An Associated Press reporter in Chaman heard jets over Spin Boldak and saw smoke rising after explosions.
