Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, said at the regional provincial diplomacy meeting in Mashhad: “Our first priority in the region is our neighbors and somewhat the peripheral region beyond our neighbors”.
He added: “Neighboring countries are our breathing spaces under sanctions conditions” and emphasized that “we have more exports with one neighboring country than all our exports to Europe”.
Araghchi also stated that the solution to confronting sanctions is economic diplomacy, which is why a deputy ministry has been established in the Foreign Ministry for this purpose.
He specified that economic relations with neighbors can provide suitable spaces to counter the effects of sanctions.
