Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, leader of the Islamic Party of Afghanistan, traveled to the United Arab Emirates on Monday, 8 Dec.
After a brief stop in Dubai, he is heading to Malaysia. This marks his first public trip abroad since the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan.
Earlier, his son Habib-ur-Rahman Hekmatyar had stated that the Taliban prevented his father from traveling abroad.
