Saudi Arabia has deported approximately 56,000 Pakistani nationals for their involvement in organized begging networks.

The move follows repeated warnings from Riyadh to Islamabad regarding the misuse of pilgrimage and tourist visas by beggars entering the Kingdom.

In response to the crisis, Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) offloaded over 66,000 passengers from outbound flights in 2025.

Officials stated that these individuals were suspected of being part of begging rings attempting to travel to West Asian countries.

Data reveals that 90% of beggars detained in the region are from Pakistan, prompting the government to place thousands on the Exit Control List.

The crackdown aims to protect the reputation of genuine pilgrims and address concerns raised by nations like the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
