Six days after the tragic killing of thirteen people in the Deh Miri village of Herat province, no group has claimed responsibility for the deadly attack. The predominantly Shia populated village has long been a popular recreational spot for local families due to its pleasant weather and greenery.
An eyewitness reported that four armed men on motorcycles arrived at the scene, separated men from women, and opened fire. Before the shooting, the attackers harshly warned the gathered families not to visit the area for leisure activities again.
Local officials of the Taliban administration in Herat previously announced the arrest of one individual in connection with the incident, but no further details were shared. The lack of clear information continues to cause deep concern among residents.
