Local officials from the Taliban government in Badakhshan province reported that five people lost their lives in a tragic traffic accident. The incident occurred on Thursday evening along the main highway connecting Kishm and Faizabad districts.
The fatal collision involved a Land Cruiser vehicle crashing into a heavy cargo truck. According to local authorities, ten other passengers, including women and children, sustained injuries and were quickly transported to a hospital in Kunduz province for treatment.
The exact cause of this specific collision remains under investigation. However, deteriorated road conditions and drivers neglecting basic safety regulations are considered the primary reasons for the rising number of deadly traffic incidents across Afghanistan.
