The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs announced that recent widespread floods in Afghanistan have caused severe infrastructural damage. According to their latest report, sixty-one health centers across five different provinces have been heavily affected.

Despite the extensive damage, none of these medical facilities have completely halted operations, though treating patients has become significantly challenging. Additionally, the devastating floods have damaged dozens of schools, severely disrupting access to education for thousands of students.

These catastrophic floods have also resulted in massive casualties, destroying hundreds of homes and vital agricultural lands. Aid agencies are currently distributing urgent relief supplies but warn that restricted access and funding shortages are hampering critical emergency responses.
