CBS News, citing US officials, has reported that Iran transferred some of its civilian aircraft to Afghanistan to protect them from potential American airstrikes. An aviation official in Kabul confirmed that an Iranian civilian plane landed shortly before the conflict escalated.
According to the report, following Pakistani military airstrikes, Taliban officials decided to move the Iranian aircraft to Herat airport for safety reasons. However, Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Taliban government, has strongly denied the presence of any Iranian aircraft in Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, the report also suggests that Iran has relocated some military assets to an airbase in Pakistan. Pakistani authorities have firmly rejected these claims, calling them misleading and baseless.
