Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan's ambassador to Russia, has announced that border and security tensions with the Taliban government have calmed down. He expressed hope that the relationship between Islamabad and Kabul will move towards greater economic and trade cooperation.

During an interview with Russian media, the Pakistani diplomat emphasized that his country never intended to conduct military strikes inside Afghanistan. However, he described the previous actions as an unavoidable response to security threats, aimed at protecting Pakistani civilians and security forces.

These remarks come as the Taliban government previously accused Pakistan of conducting airstrikes that resulted in civilian casualties across various provinces. Nevertheless, the Pakistani ambassador highlighted the ethnic and historical ties between the two nations as a foundation for improving relations.
