The International Organization for Migration reported that over 114,000 Afghan citizens returned from Iran and Pakistan between late April and early May. These massive border movements include both forced deportations and voluntary repatriations.

According to the agency's biweekly report, nearly 15,000 families, including countless vulnerable women and children, crossed back into the country during this short period. Since the beginning of the year, total returns have surpassed a staggering 3.5 million individuals.

The UN Refugee Agency recently highlighted growing alarm over the acute situation facing Afghan migrants in Iran. Migrants are increasingly struggling with severe economic hardships, complicated documentation renewals, and restricted access to essential public services.
