Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the crucial role of the Trans-Afghan railway project during the Tashkent International Investment Forum. He stated that this new economic corridor would provide direct and efficient access to southern ports for the region.

The Trans-Afghan project, spanning over six hundred kilometers with an estimated multi-billion dollar cost, aims to connect Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. Feasibility studies for this strategic route commenced after the three nations signed a joint agreement in Kabul.

Mirziyoyev invited international investors to participate in various sectors within Uzbekistan. He highlighted that attracting foreign investment is not just about capital, but also about transferring technology, creating jobs, and connecting the transit networks of Asia and Europe.
