Taliban government officials in Takhar province have announced the successful rescue of a mother and her young child from a prolonged domestic imprisonment. The two individuals were kept in horrific conditions inside a ruined structure for seven consecutive years.
According to local reports, the disturbing incident took place in Rustaq district, where the confinement area was previously used as an animal shelter. The Afghan woman and her son were kept hidden from the public eye for years, enduring immense suffering.
It is reported that the woman's husband imprisoned them in this isolated location for undisclosed reasons. The husband, along with his other wife, jointly maintained the secret captivity and controlled their miserable living conditions.
